If you’ve been blogging for a while, you probably are starting to figure out that there are certain times when it’s best to publish your posts – for instance, here at WordCast, the majority of our content goes out on a scheduled basis every morning, as that is when most of our readers visit the site and when our listeners download our podcasts onto their iPod, mp3 player, or computer.

A challenge can arise when the volume of posts put out on a given day or week increases. Let’s say that, on a Monday morning, you have a new post that you want to work in with the others already scheduled to be published that day, but you forgot what time the posts you’ve already submitted are set to be published. You can go into your WordPress administration interface, look at each post individually and try to keep track in your head of what’s going out when, but that’s a recipe for a future post disaster.

When we were first putting together the WordCast network, we stumbled upon Editorial Calendar, a plugin that has already become essential to our daily workflow on the site. It creates a full calendar of all scheduled posts in your WordPress admin interface, and allows you to drag and drop posts to different days, edit their times, even change the title or delete the post entirely, just from the expandable menus. If you’ve used online calendar apps like Google Calendar, you’ll feel right at home.

The plugin is currently in beta, but we haven’t had any problems as of yet. Try it out and let us know what you think!

After the problem with the images on my blog not aligning properly, I now realised my paragraphs aren’t showing up properly. (link to a blog post on my yet to be released blog) Any suggestions on how to get them to show properly? I have already done some research, but didn’t come up with anything.

- Jonny

I need to move a Wordpress installation from one host to another as well as change the domain. I seemed to have either messed up or overlooked something because my WP install is still dead after moving :(

- I changed the url of WP in the /settings to reflect the new URL

- I moved the WP directory to the new server (and changed the db info in the config file)

- I then downloaded and changed all instances of the old url to the new one

- I uploaded the revised db to a newly created db with the new host

When i visit the site the home page loads and displays all the correct info but none of the links resolve and i get the following.

Error 404 – Not found

Your browser can’t find the document corresponding to the URL you typed in.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

-Justin
