WordPress.tv is an amazing and growing resource for visual tips and tutorials for using WordPress, as well as WordPress-related interviews and topics. It is also the key repository for WordCamp videos, a tremendous showcase of WordPress and blogging topics presented by some innovative thinkers and experts in the WordPress Community.
Companies around the world are pointing their social media and blogging employees to WordPress.tv to learn how to use WordPress in their company, and many are showing them at conferences and training workshops. All the tutorials are available free of charge, all submitted by the WordPress Community or the team of WordPress.tv.
Michael Pick of WordPress.tv is a long time expert at video and video editing and has brought fun and innovative videos to the WordPress Community helping us learn visually about how to use WordPress. He and his team help WordCamp organizers around the world to live stream and capture video from the event and share it with the world.
They also dig all around the web looking for videos on WordPress. If you are interested, check out their submission guidelines. It lists the different types of video content they accept: WordCamp Videos, screencast tutorials, and vodcasts, what they describe as WordPress related interviews, reviews, animations, or…whatever. As long as it is WordPress related. They also include a great list of screencasting resources to help you get started and understand how this all works.
Videos are presented in English and many other languages, with more international language tutorials coming. Subtitle captioning has recently been added for English, Turkish, and Galician, with more on the way. Hover your mouse over the video for subtitle and other options. If you have some screencasting and video experience, your help would be appreciated.
Finding Video Tutorials on WordPress.tv
Unfortunately, while Michael and his crew are working hard on adding appropriate tags and categorizing the content, it’s hard to find things unless you know exactly what you are looking for. Here are some tips to help you navigate the WordPress.tv site.
The content is divided up into two “flavors” representing the version of WordPress you are using. The two parent flavors are WordPress.org and WordPress.com.
The next layer of flavors are version numbers, represented by their version numbers such as 2.8, 2.9, and so on.
The category list is visible when you click on a category found in the right sidebar area of the iframe hosting the video. Scroll down to find tags and categories. The key parent category for WordPress.tv is How-To with subcategories for:

EXCELLENT! I am so glad to see this here. The videos make a lot more sense to someone like me (relative newbie) than the Codex does, although it’s well written.
Thank you for setting this up!
