Automattic Hires Theme Developer Ian Stewart, Forms “Theme Team”

Yesterday, highly respected WordPress theme developer Ian Stewart announced on his personal blog that he has been hired by Automattic as a Theme Wrangler. What is interesting is the fact that his blog, ThemeShaper, is also joining the company, as a front-end to what he calls a “theme team” being formed there.

PollDaddy Hits One Billion Pageviews Per Month

PollDaddy, one of Automattic’s most noteworthy acquisitions, has reached the one billion pageview per month mark. The site allows users to easily create and publish polls for their readers and friends to vote on.

Akismet Spam Protection Pro Blogger API Keys Available on GoDaddy

Because it comes included as a plugin in a standard distribution of WordPress.org, it makes sense that the vast majority of WordPress bloggers (and even bloggers on other platforms) use the extremely powerful Akismet to protect their sites from the constantly growing enemy of comment spam, many purchasing commercial licenses for their larger traffic sites. Today Automattic made it even easier for GoDaddy.com customers to purchase these keys.
