Following users, unfollowing others, posting tweets and sending direct messages, these apps can be quite useful and innovative, but also quite malicious. In case you were in need of any more validation of the fact that Twitter is extremely active and abuzz and constantly growing, here you go: Bill Gates joined Twitter yesterday at about noon Pacific. Eight hours later, he had over 100,000 followers. That’s around three per second!

PollDaddy, one of Automattic’s most noteworthy acquisitions, has reached the one billion pageview per month mark. The site allows users to easily create and publish polls for their readers and friends to vote on.
